Star Renewable Energy is leading the charge in industrial scale renewable heating systems through heat pump technology.
What does this mean?
You will have heard about renewable’s but probably only to do with electricity (wind farms, solar PV, tidal etc) Electricity is around 25% of the emissions problem where as heating is 50%!
As a society we have to decarbonise everything we do if we want to meet the Paris Agreements targets. All large users of heat eg Universities, airports, hospitals will have to decarbonise by 2035 and this means not burning gas even in gas CHP engines
So how do we heat homes and businesses without burning vast amounts gas? Star’s preferred method is Heat Pumps – primarily, Water Source Heat Pumps.
We are looking to take on student studying in a related field over the summer who will assist with:
- Review of customer specifications
- Carry out system designs
- Contact suppliers for information
- If the opportunity is arises – attend external conferences.
The internship will be based in our head office in Thornliebank, Glasgow.
This position is for up to 8 weeks full time over the summer break with the possibility of extending the job on a part time basis into the following year.
With Star installing a Water Source Heat Pump system in the Gorbals next year it’s a great time to get involved and learn about the challenges that face the UK in the energy supply dilemma.
