For the second year running, Star Refrigeration is listed in the Sunday Times Best 100 Companies. After entering at 96 in 2009, Star has moved 32 places up the listing to 64 for 2010. The survey collected feedback from Star Refrigeration’s 333 employees including group companies Starfrost, Star Technical Solutions, Star Learning Solutions and Penec. Results revealed that employees think Star provide a great service and are proud to work for the business. Employees work hard and care about providing a good service but don’t feel so pressured that it affects their concentration or performance. A top 20 score was achieved in terms of Star providing solutions that improve the environment. An example is the ammonia chiller installation for Great Ormond Street Hospital, London which won the 2009 Building Better Healthcare Award for Best Ecological Product. The survey recognised that Star’s CEO, John Rowell, runs the business on sound moral values and that staff have confidence in the leadership skills of their senior management.
