Industrial heating applications typically involve the burn fossil fuels (e.g. gas, oil) to generate hot water or steam. This process is less than 100% efficient and is a major contributor a businesses carbon footprint.
Heat pumps offer a solution to improve efficiency, reduce carbon footprint and lower energy bills. Using technology similar to that which has been widely used in refrigeration for many years, it is possible to achieve efficiencies in excess of 300% and produce water at 90°C.
NEATPUMP from Star Refrigeration is a range of water to water heat pumps which use natural ammonia refrigerant to delivery high efficiency heating for medium to large scale industrial applications. Unit capacities vary from 200kW to 5MW, with units linked in parallel to produce large capacities. Using the Vilter single screw compressor, it is possible to achieve water temperatures of 90°C.
Our ENVITHERM water to water solution uses carbon dioxide (CO2) refrigerant to heat water from 15°C to 65°C in a single pass solution. This is achieved with an efficiency of over 400% (COPheating>4) and is available in standard modules of 45kW.
