The Role

We are looking to recruit a Design Engineer to join our experienced Design department, working in a fast paced environment where the successful candidate will work as part of the team ensuring our reputation of high quality is upheld.  The Design team are based in Glasgow, although remote working arrangement/locations will be considered.
The successful candidate will report to the Design Manager and will be primarily responsible for preparing Industrial Contract design documentation in accordance with company standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

Key duties include a range of responsibilities which will include, but not be limited to the following;
  • Industrial refrigeration plant engineering
  • Prepare design documentation in accordance with company standards and procedures, including Diagram of Connections (P&ID), Bills of Materials and Electrical Specifications
  • Carry out calculations and selections of critical components
  • Ensure best practice in design solutions
  • Provide advice and troubleshooting support to Star colleagues
  • Timely production of error free design documentation

The Candidate

The role is suited to an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with good problem solving skills.
There will a structured training plan for the successful candidate to support them in their new role and, where applicable, toward chartership

Key skills and experience:

  • Qualifications – BEng or above in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Experience – at least 2 years post graduate
