Software Team

The experienced Control Systems Engineer will join our software team creating project specific software for our products and systems, to deliver projects to some of the country’s biggest refrigeration customers.

The Role

The experienced Control Systems Engineer will join our software team creating project specific software for our products and systems, to deliver projects to some of the country’s biggest refrigeration customers.


Key duties include a range of responsibilities, which include but are not limited to;
  • Programming of Mitsubishi and Allen Bradley PLC control systems in ladder logic
  • Configuration and programming of Beijer and Allen Bradley HMIs
  • Evaluation and testing functional performance prior to commissioning
  • Remote support of commissioning engineers
  • Problem solving and fault finding
  • Meeting delivery deadlines and project budgets

The Candidate

The successful applicant will have a strong controls background, including experience of programming PLCs & HMIs and a software or electrical qualification.
The successful candidate must have:
  • A software or electrical qualification ideally at degree level
  • A minimum of 2 years experience of programming PLCs using ladder logic
  • A minimum of 2 years experience configuring and programming HMIs
  • A focus on quality and high level of attention to detail
  • The ability to work as part of a team to implement agreed control philosophies
  • An enthusiasm for solving technical problems
  • Excellent technical and communication skills along with the ability to work to deadlines.
  • Excellent IT skills

The following experience is desirable, but not essential:

  • Experience of programming Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley or Siemens PLCs
  • Experience configuring and programming Beijer, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley or Siemens HMIs
  • Experience in object oriented programming / scripting such as C#
  • A good understanding of networks and VPN technologies
  • A keen interest in programming, computers and IT technology
