Project Manager – Industrial Refrigeration (Hybrid)


Location:

Based in Thornliebank, Glasgow (Hybrid) with travel to sites throughout the UK as required

39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.15am–5:15pm and Friday 8:15am – 1.15pm

Projects Department

Led by the Director of Projects, the team includes Project Managers, Site Managers and Site Engineers, with added additional support from the wider Industrial Contracts delivery functions.  Typically, the team will manage around 20-30 projects simultaneously all at varying stages.  Projects are based mainly in the UK, however the team have, on occasion, completed projects worldwide.

The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Project Manager who will work as part of the team ensuring our reputation of being leaders in our field is upheld.
The successful candidate will report to the Director or Projects and be responsible for planning and controlling all stages of refrigeration projects from purchase order to handover.

Responsibilities

Key duties include a range of responsibilities, which include but are not limited to;

 

People and Processes
  • Identify project specific risk areas and implement and monitor risk minimisation and mitigation actions
  • Compliance with company safety, quality, administration and commercial procedures ensuring each and every project is delivered to the highest standard
  • Good time management to allow delivery of projects at varying stages at any one time.
 
Financial
  • Deliver projects at target margin or better
  • Control project cash flow and revenue recognition using our established template documentation and processes
  • Identify and manage site resources and any charges that occur due to programme/scope change – ensure resources are reallocated accordingly
  • Resolve/agree project final accounts with sub-contractors and clients as expediently as possible
 
Customers
  • Maintain customer/contractor relationships through regular dialogue and timely site visits.
  • Identify and manage programme changes as necessary through effective client and sub-contactor communication
  • Complete project to customer expectation or better and inline with Star Standards
  • Ensure documentation is in place for smooth handover to customers and local branch the local Operations team
 
Technology
  • Manage a variety of complex projects at any one time
  • Produce timely and accurate management information reports inline with the reporting schedule
  • Identify and secure changes to scope and programme as project variations ensuring agreements are in place in a timely manner
  • Effective use of company approved software
  • Provide a total solutions expertise

The Candidate

We are seeking a motivated individual who is well organised and able to manage a varied workload, working with multiple stakeholders
The successful applicant will be expected to demonstrate knowledge & experience in areas including:

Key skills and experience

  • Experience working on large industrial construction projects, either in design, management, engineering, installation and/or commissioning;
  • Good understanding of commercial aspects associated with engineering and construction projects;
  • Good understanding health & safety legislation
  • Good knowledge of MS Office software and MS Project
  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with customers
  • Focus on the company’s core values aiding decision making
  • Supervising internal staff and external subcontractors
  • Knowledge of industrial scale refrigeration plant would be beneficial but not essential;
Full training on company systems and procedures will be given.
