Lottie attends Star’s 50th Anniversary celebration…

Lottie dolls are part of a movement to help encourage children, especially girls, to study fields related to science, technology, engineering and maths, and go on to enjoy STEM careers. In 2020, the Women’s Engineering Society undertook its fifth annual #WESLottie campaign, asking WES members and other volunteers to post photos of Lottie dolls at their workplaces to show the range of careers available in engineering. As well as visiting the Star-built heat pumps for the Queens Quay district heating system, Lottie also got a piece of the birthday cake.
