Star-built heat pump system at Queens Quay, Glasgow, wins EHPA award

Star engineered the heat pumps for this award-winning district heating scheme, the first of its kind in Scotland and the largest water-source heat pump in the UK. At the scheme being named ‘European Heat Pump City of the Year’ in 2021, Dave Pearson, now Star’s Group Sustainable Development Director, said, “Water-source heat pumps have been in use in mainland Europe for several years, but the Queen’s Quay scheme is the first large-scale, high temperature heat pump deployment in the UK”.
