Star develops the world’s first distribution centres to use CO2 for both the chilled and frozen rooms!

In 2002, Star developed systems for the world’s first distributions centres to use CO₂ for both the chilled and frozen rooms! This plant room was an old warehouse running an R-22 system, now fully modernised with plants in both the chill and cold store running on CO₂. This both extended the life of the asset and enabled the business to reduce their environmental impact, as CO₂ is a natural refrigerant with an Ozone Depletion Potential of zero.
