Thermosyphon chillers installed in 1990 at the Dept of Social Security data centre in Washington, Tyne and Wear

Thermosyphon chillers installed in 1990 at what was then the Dept of Social Security (now known as DWP) data centre in Washington, Tyne and Wear. At the time this centre administrated child benefit payments. We also provided cooling for unemployment benefit and old age pensions administration at other DSS sites. As the computer heat load is constant all year, thermosyphon chillers delivered sizeable savings in electrical costs for these government departments.
