Investors in People Accreditation (2024)

We are delighted to announce that following our recent review, we have achieved reaccreditation at Investors in People Platinum and Investors in Young People Gold.

Star Refrigeration have had IIP accreditation since 2003. We use IIP frameworks which look at how we lead, support and improve our people related practices as a way to benchmark our progress in areas including empowering and involving people, recognition and reward, building capability and creating sustainable success with the overall aim of ensuring we have a positive culture that recognises and celebrates the skilled people that we have at Star.

Our staff support is key to enhancing our continuous improvement ethos, helping us to identify our strengths as well as areas for future focus.  Some of the areas highlighted as having made progress since our last review include the level of collaborative working and knowledge sharing across different areas of the company and the positive results that brings as well as progress in how we recruit and attract to build our teams including sharing employees career stories and using our values as part of our interview process. Alongside these there has been a continued focus on recognition and reward, ensuring we recognise and celebrate successes and the regular review and development of the company’s overall benefits package.

Within the Investors in Young People framework some of our biggest successes have been the focus on attraction and recruitment to support our talent pipeline through our apprentice and trainee intake.   We’ve also increased the STEM engagement work that we do, raising awareness of the industry and variety of job opportunities it provides, from early years through to Further and Higher education with an aim of attracting more diverse future talent. The willingness to share knowledge and support new team members was also recognised as a huge strength within the company, something that many people who have joined in trainee roles have valued over the years.
