Fast Track Training – Engineering

Fast Track Training – Engineering

Our fast track training programme is aimed at engineers from other industries or ex-forces who want to train in Industrial Refrigeration. These opportunities exist across our branch network; see Current Vacancies for available locations/roles and how to apply.
Engineers with mechanical or electrical engineering experience and experience in fault finding and troubleshooting are given a guided learning opportunity via one-to-one tuition, accredited training courses and continual on the job training alongside skilled engineers. It’s possible to be an industrial refrigeration engineer within 12-18 months.
We work with the Careers Transition Partnership to share our training programme with those leaving the forces. We’ll share any events we are attending on our social media so make sure to follow us at: @StarRefrig
Employees who joined us through our fast-track training programme have gone on to develop their industrial refrigeration skillset and progressed through our engineer pathway and have been promoted into more senior roles within our teams.

Fast Track Trainee Profiles

It has been a steep learning curve with many challenges but it is extremely rewarding. There is always someone happy to lend a hand and offer their advice.

Marc Gault, Regional Contracts Manager

The training has been challenging and refreshing and like everything in life, you get what you put in. I am proud of my achievements and felt a similar sense of belonging when I was serving in the military.

Steven Abbott, Industrial Refrigeration Engineer

There are many different possibilities within Star. Many of my colleagues who also served in the armed forces are now refrigeration engineers, commissioning engineers, service controllers and project managers.

David Bartlett, Operations Training Manager

I fancied the refrigeration sector as it's a skilled trade and it would allow me to be mobile, hands on along with being a fresh new challenge for me.

Aaron Garner, Refrigeration Engineer
