Question

There are large numbers all around us: the operating pressure of CO2 systems, the number of zeotropic blends now on the market and the number of lawyers it takes to decide who is responsible for changing the lightbulb are some examples.

One way to get from a small to a large number quickly is to take its factorial. For example 3! (spoken as “three factorial”) is 1x2x3 which equals 6. 6! is 1x2x3x4x5x6 which equals 720 – the numbers get big fast. 10! is equal to 3,628,800. Bearing all this in mind what is special about the number 2,520?

Answer

2,520 is the smallest number that is divisible by all the numbers from 1 to 10 inclusive.
