Bob Taylor of Star’s Manchester office has won the IOR’s ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’. This is in recognition for his substantial contribution to the field of service and maintenance in a career spent in the refrigeration industry.

Bob’s career includes time at J&E Halls, Douglas Rownson, and Industrial Cooling Equipment. He has worked at Star Refrigeration since 1997 and is an active member of the Manchester team, always looking for different challenges.

Bob says, “For the past 43 years I have been at the front end of service, maintenance and commissioning of large refrigeratiion systems and plant. In that time there have been many changes, from the general move away from piston compressors to screws and the increase in Health and Safety.”

He continues: “My first job in the industry was working for J&E Halls on a CO2 system onboard a ship in Manchester dry docks. I have now come full circle, as my last job will also be working on a CO2 system!”

In the last 7 years, Star Refrigeration employees have won this National Award 3 times. For more details, click here.
