Star exceeds energy reduction target
Star has exceeded energy reduction targets for milk supplier Müller Wiseman Dairies during an ongoing refrigeration plant efficiency drive at three chilled distribution depots in Scotland.
Star was tasked with improving the energy efficiency of existing cooling systems at the three sites. The engineering team retrofitted Star’s energy saving Aether condenser fan control system in conjunction with electronic expansion valves to each refrigeration plant.
Aether is a standalone device that enhances energy efficiency through the optimisation of condenser fan control. This is achieved by controlling motor speed and implementing floating head pressure control.
The latest plant performance analysis from the three Müller Wiseman sites shows that Star has exceeded energy reduction targets on the project.
Müller Wiseman processes and distributes milk to major multiples and independent retailers across Great Britain. The group has a network of dairies and distribution depots strategically located across the UK.
Müller Wiseman has a strong record of investing in new facilities and equipment to create the UK’s most efficient and environmentally friendly dairies. The group has an ongoing commitment to improve environmental performance and make major reductions in energy usage.
