Technology is always evolving and equipment wears out. This is the main reasons for planning replacement or refurbishment routines.
An effective alternative if capital plant replacement is not an option is the refurbisment or upgrade of certain components. Certain compressors can be replaced with reconditioned units that carry 12 months warranty, or replaced with new models. Condensers can be overhauled to return them to efficient operation and extend the serviceable life. Ancillary equipment like pumps and valves can have a programmed replacement regime to keep the plant in operation.
PLC controls and interface equipment can become obsolete and we advise our customers when products are no longer supported by the manufacturer, and offer strategies to support the site whether it is stocking spares before they cease manufacture or upgrade to current standards.
When a plant is coming to the end of its life and the upgrade of a diverse number of components would be required to keep the plant in operation, it is often the case that comprehensive replacement represents the best option.
