Established in Garforth in 1989, Star Refrigeration’s Leeds branch is now located on the Astley Lane Industrial Estate in Swillington. With direct access to the A1, M1 and M62 motorway network, the branch covers the whole of Yorkshire, including the key industrial cities of Leeds, Sheffield, Doncaster and Grimsby.
The Leeds branch delivers refrigeration plant maintenance for a large customer base of food industry clients, including major players in food processing and distribution. Many long-standing key accounts are household names in food retail, with multi-site TCS&D operations across Yorkshire. The branch is also responsible for plant aftercare at some of the region’s top ice and leisure facilities.
Star’s 26-strong team at Leeds includes 13 field engineers, two apprentices and one fast-track trainee with a commercial refrigeration background. Engineering support staff includes three maintenance managers, three supervisors and a service controller.
The Leeds branch experienced significant growth in 2008, when business turnover tripled following a number of major installation projects and contract wins. Today, client retention is one of the branch’s key strengths. We maintain many long-standing loyal customers, some of whom have been receiving plant aftercare services from Star for over 20 years. This is bolstered by an ongoing focus on business development and planning for continued growth.
With branch offices in Manchester and Leeds, Star is well placed to serve customers located within the M62 corridor area. The two branches regularly work together to support key account customers, with a combined team of 22 fully qualified field engineers.
