Can you tell us a bit about your role at Star?

My role in Star is Service engineer, looking after a variety of industrial refrigeration plants.

When and why did you decide it was time for a career transition / move?

I’ve been in the industry for about 27 years and had thought about joining Star for a number of years.

Your previous role was similar to what you are now doing at Star Refrigeration – what was it that attracted you to Star for the next phase of your career?

In my previous employments I have covered many roles, sometimes as part of a small team, sometimes on my own, but what attracted me to Star was the opportunity to work in a big environment alongside people at the apex of their respective area of expertise. I’ve been able to learn from each one of them.

What does Star offer you in terms of developing your unique career path?

I know what I want in my future at Star and also know that this company will help me to achieve my target through specific training and courses. Although I only just joined, I’m already working towards my next step on the company ladder. At the moment I’m at Star Technical level ST3a, and there’s a clear pathway to progress through the grades.

What advice would you give to anyone who is looking to advance their career in industrial refrigeration?

My advice for anyone looking for a career in industrial refrigeration would be to build a solid starting base by entering an established, recognized and respected apprenticeship programme.

What makes you feel valued at Star?

I personally feel valued at Star because of all the great benefits they offer from the very beginning.

What inspires you to do better?

I guess what inspires me to always do better is the tangible and real prospect of an ever-evolving career.
