Star Refrigeration’s engineering experts are attending The Cold Chain Federation’s highly anticipated conference Cold Chain Live! On 8th and 9th September 2022 in Birmingham. The event brings together cold chain experts from around the world to discuss topical challenges facing the industry such as sustainability and innovation.
Over two days, delegates from across the sector will come together to share ideas and network, including voices from academia, government and industry. The main stage programme boasts top international specialists including university professors, business leaders and government officials such as Lord Debden, Chairman of the Committee of Climate Change.
Star’s experts will be speaking and taking part in panel discussions including Dr Rob Lamb (Group Sales & Marketing Director) who will also be doing the keynote speech; Dr Andy Pearson (Group MD), Dr Dermot Cotter (STS MD) and Nicky Cowan (SRE Manager).
Dr Rob Lamb, said, “We are thrilled to be working in partnership with The Cold Chain Federation, which is the renowned voice of the temperature-controlled industry. Cold Chain Live! 2022 has a fantastic agenda and Star are proud to be a part of it, delivering seminars, facilitating discussions and providing advice at the Energy Zone. It’s a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the past few years, when the industry has been tested to extremes, and encourage insightful discussions about the future of the cold supply chain”.
In addition to the two days of seminars, Q&As, discussion panels and networking lunches, there is also a dinner with entertainment for delegates on 8th September. This promises to be a social event which fosters industry relationships and an opportunity to continue the dialogue from the conference sessions.
Cold Chain Live! Is split into three industry categories for the afternoon sessions – logistics, transport and energy. Star Refrigeration is hosting the Energy Zone and helping delegates tackle the following questions:
The Net Zero cold store – myth or reality?
Is generating your own power the way out of the energy crisis?
How can I use data and benchmarking to take control of my energy costs?
With soaring energy costs a priority for businesses across the sector and beyond, these sessions aim to give delegates inspiration and practical advice for lowering energy bills and reducing carbon footprint.
